First Lady of France Brigitte Macron 

Brigitte Marie-Claude Macron  born 13 April 1953 is a schoolteacher in French who is the wife and former teacher of Emmanuel Macron, now president of France.

He proposed to create an official “First Lady of France” title as the wife of the French president currently holds no official title coming with their own staff, office and a personally allocated budget for their social activities. 

Following Macron's presidential election campaign, and a petition against his proposal that gathered more than 275,000 signatures, the French government announced that Brigitte Macron would not hold the official title of “First Lady of France” and would not be allocated an official budgt for her social activities and personal expenditures.

In an interview with Magazine of French Elle, Brigitte Macron  stated that a soon-to-be published charter of transparency would clarify her “role and accompanying resources for her social activities”, including the composition and size of her staff in Élysée Palac.
